Working with Bludso’s BBQ started off with a promising concept and prompt fee payments, indicating a willingness to get projects moving quickly. However, several opportunities for improvement became apparent during execution. Delays in creative approvals and late submissions of essential assets, coupled with inconsistent communication and insufficient product samples, frequently necessitated on-the-spot improvisation. Prospective collaborators should ensure they’re prepared for potential last-minute adjustments and clarify logistical and creative requirements well in advance to achieve smoother campaign execution.

Backseat Taste-Test Takeover
Working on Bludso’s BBQ’s campaign was a mixed experience. Although they provided clear initial guidelines and promptly paid the fee, I encountered several challenges that hampered the campaign’s smooth execution. The product samples were insufficient and the individually packaged requirements weren’t met as expected, which meant I often had to improvise on the field. Their brand manager was slow in approving creative elements and the coupon design, sometimes leaving me waiting until the last minute to adjust the in-ride promotions. Additionally, while the idea of tracking survey responses via a mounted tablet was solid, the lack of detailed, timely insights and miscommunications regarding target demographics meant I couldn’t optimize the campaign effectively. The overall enthusiasm and thoroughness just didn’t match the commitments outlined, resulting in a campaign that fell short of its potential. I’m left with a 2-star rating due to these critical delays and inconsistencies.

Rolling Sample Blitz
I had a rough experience with Bludso’s BBQ. Their lack of preparation was evident from the get-go; they submitted the decals last minute, weren’t sure about sample quantities, and their QR promo code setup was a mess. Their communication was sparse and haphazard, leaving me scrambling for direction on a campaign already bogged down by their poor organization. Timeliness and professionalism were severely lacking on their end. They didn’t show much enthusiasm or creativity in planning, which left many unanswered questions about product handling and legal disclosures. The overall process felt uncoordinated and unprofessional, leaving me extremely dissatisfied with the level of commitment and thoroughness expected from a client managing an active lifestyle brand.

Backpack Arcade Beacon Blitz
I worked with Brandon Lin and Bludso’s BBQ on my 'Backpack Arcade Beacon Blitz' gig and, unfortunately, the experience was less than stellar. While I appreciated their willingness to kick things off with a promising concept, their overall timeliness and thoroughness fell short of expectations. The essential promotional video was submitted late and, when finally provided, it did not fully adhere to the silent video requirements nor did it effectively capture the intended brand energy. This led to some confusion during on-site activations as I had to improvise on the spot, hampering the flow of my campaign. Furthermore, their communication throughout the week was sporadic and lacked the enthusiastic follow-up needed to truly align with the campaign objectives. Key talking points and incentive details were inconsistently relayed, which made it challenging to engage the arcade patrons confidently. While I understand that challenges can arise, the overall execution and coordination left a lot to be desired, earning them a 2-star review from my end.
